Water Problems

Needless to say we Scottish Hydro Billionaires are now in our 4th waterless week with hardly a kilowatt hour generated between us and certainly on the west coast not much of the wet stuff on the horizon. Even drinking water is a little scarce which must be a bit of a record and, of course, fishermen are to be found in tears on many a river bank. In general the transit of Venus seems to be taking most of the blame, particularly when the rest of the UK appears to be sinking under heavy rain.
However dearest Dottie and I have found several diversions from the sight of our veggies wilting in the heat; either being kept indoors by swarms of midges or enjoying trips away as there is not much we can do about the weather. Indoor pursuits include naming hens and pigs as well as considering the family trees of dogs. Sallies forth from Glen Trollaigh have taken us to Elgin to attend a birthday party and stay in a B&B with that traditional Scottish option, no hot water. Actually Elgin and the trip there, were good fun with a visit to a Fort William supermarket for supplies which started off a wonderful game of "spot the local", this particular venue being an excellent place to hone ones skills.
We also took a day off for hill walking conquering a peak we have not visited before as well as giving a few hours to touching up the outside paintwork of our kirk, which is hosting a couple of weddings in the next few months, so we felt it would be an idea to polish the building up a bit. However we have run out of paint and if you are to be one of the lucky guests perhaps it would be better not to inspect the back of the building too closely!
Because of other commitments we could not make it to London in time for the Jubilee River Pageant which seems to have been just as well looking at the weather and the news that the cold has contributed to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh ending up in hospital. We did make it to the Jubilee Concert in the nob's seating below the Royal Box. A very enjoyable and emotional evening although I hear that the social media websites are bashing "Cheryl". I confess to not knowing who she is, however it seems that shortening ones name mid career and trying to upstage the concert's very popular organiser may be a mistake!
Yours Aye, Archie, The Baron Trollaigh.
